Europe’s clean air rules allow for harmful air pollution, compared to the science-based guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO). Good air quality translates into lower health costs and better quality of life. Improving air quality results in a healthier and more prosperous society. The European Commission has proposed revising the EU’s air quality rules. EU governments agreed on their position on the Ambient Air Quality Directive (AAQD). EU governments and the European Parliament are currently negotiating the final agreement.
The Clean Air Action Now campaign brings together the existing demands for clean air on a unified platform. We strive to amplify the voices of European citizens to reach those responsible for our wellbeing at this critical time.
